Hello! I am so happy to find your website!!
I am so very surprised that I have not ever heard of Jainism!
I have been practicing & emersed in a wholistic/ ‘yogic’ lifestyle for over 25 yrs. Although I have returned to eating meat, fish & Animal products – 9yrs ago – after learning thru self experience & consulting Aruvedic & Chinese medicine dr’ s- who confirmed that my body requires this for optimal health -along with consuming much more Cooked! & warming foods.
I have Long!!!Not consumed garlic or onions.
As personal preference. The smell actually often repulses me.
Most people think this is very strange – to put it mildly.
I have thought the ‘NGNO’ is considered a Satvic diet.
I love going to Shivananda where I don’t have to ask Every time ” does this have garlic or onions?”
Can you please tell me the difference between Satvic & Jainism. Or is a Satvic diet part of a Jain lifestyle?
I am very happy that my search for a pesto recipe without garlic led me here.
Sat Nam,
Shannon

What a great list! I’m looking into Jainism as the non-violence appeals. This is a great start, and I’ll definitely be returning to this page.
