This blog is created to inspire not only Jains, but anyone interested in pursuing a healthy, compassionate lifestyle through a plant-based diet.

I started cooking and creating these recipes during my sophomore year in college. I dedicate this blog to my mom for all her cooking inspiration (and nicknaming me “Pinki”). Even more so, she has blessed my siblings and me by not only nourishing my family with a completely Jain diet, but educating us to understand why we should follow it, and teaching us the benefits of mindfulness.

Growing up Jain in the United States is no doubt, a challenge. But I believe that with the right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct, any challenge can be overcome. Over the years, I have noticed the lack of resources for easy, nutritious Jain recipes. I have also experienced that as we get older, our lives only seem to get busier. For these two reasons, I have developed recipes that incorporate wholesome nutritional value, simple instructions, and minimal time.

Cooking is both scientific and artistic. Most of my recipes have been the result of countless experiments and inspiration from food lovers. My dream is to someday write my own cookbook.

    Not sure which part if US you live in but there is a great Facebook group called ‘Young Jains of America’ (norteast area). I think you should post your blog information on that. It will be very helpful for them. Also, they have host a lot of activities throughout the year.

  4. Priyanka! I wish I could reach through the screen and virtually hug you for this marvelous blog. My husband and I eat a vegetarian diet (try to eat vegan as much as possible) minus onion and garlic. I cannot say that our diet is Jain strictly because we do eat root vegetables. But finding tasty, simple, nutritious NO-NG recipes is such a challenge! So your blog is something I am loving, something I am going to be browsing through regularly henceforth. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

  5. i came across your blog recently and am highly impressed with it as I to am a jain and follow the principles. i have a question as you are from sports medicine field….my husband is a marathon runner and to incorporate a jain diet with high protein and carbs becomes a challenge for me. So can you guide me or share some recipes that would be benefical to him. thank you

  8. Can u suggest how can we make salsa n schezwan sauce in a Jain way. I am from India,love your receipes.
    I cook for my family n my hubby n my son love international receipes. I try to make some Jain… But in some I use onion n garlic. I want to stop that. Pls guide me for the above two as we have them quite frequently.
